Castor Oil Pack

Castor oil, applied topically to the skin, has been shown to increase circulation and improve elimination and healing of tissues and organs. It is particularly supportive to the lymphatic system, which in turn helps improve digestion, boost immune function, and reduce swelling and inflammation.

When we have scar tissue or adhesions, fibroids, ovarian cysts, blocked fallopian tubes, PID, Asherman’s Syndrome and more, castor oil packs improves the blood flow needed for healing and is one of the easiest therapies along-side acupuncture to improve the health of the reproductive system and fertility.

Simple Instructions for Applying a Castor Oil Pack

1. Saturate a piece of cotton flannel in cold-pressed, pure castor oil
2. Place it directly on the skin over the lower abdomen OR Liver area or any area which you wish to treat
3. Cover it with plastic wrap
4. Add gentle heat source on top – hot water bottle .
5. Lie down and rest for an hour

DO NOT USE DURING MENSTRUATION

Cleaning the Pack

1. Soak overnight in a bowl in a mixture of hot water, bicarbonate of soda, and natural dish/castile soap.
2. In the morning, hand wash with hot water and natural dish/castile soap, wring it out very well.
3. Take an old tea towel (that you don’t mind ruining) and lay the outer layer of the pack against it. Roll the pack up in the tea towel, blotting out the oil until there is little oily residue left on the outer layer.
4. Hang it to dry. A new pack is recommended after three washes or when pack no longer functions correctly.

How often should you apply castor oil packs?

Apply a castor oil pack at least 3-4 times a week for an hour.  When trying to conceive, do not use after ovulation.  If active in an IVF cycle, consult with us prior.  Take advantage of the quiet and restful time Castor Oil Therapy allows you to have.

CAUTION: Never use castor oil from a plastic bottle because of risk of chemicals leaching into the oil. Always use pure hexane free organic casor oil from a glass bottle.
